The Mohave Professional Amateur Radio Group Will Be Hosting It’s First Annual Ham Fest On Saturday September 6th, 2008 At Centennial Park In kingman, Az Located Across From The Public Library. It Will Start At 7:00 AM And Run Until ?
Directions to Event: From West bound I-40, Exit on #51, Stockton Hill Road,Make a right turn off of freeway, then an immediate right turnonto Beverly. Go East 1/2 mile to Burbank. The event will be located in the NorthWest corner of Centennial Park.
Talk In Frequencies UHF = 446.300 PL=123 VHF = 146.940 PL=151.4 There Will Be Several Events As Well As Free Food And Soft Drinks. There Will Also Be An Examination Session In The Library At 9:00am. Guest VE’s Are Welcome!

Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) is the worldwide digital standard for initiating and sustaining communications in any mode using High Frequency radio.
Membership of the Ham Radio ALE international organisation, HFLINK, is way up this year. The membership reached 2000 members in early April, with an increase of 600 members since August 2007 when announcements went out that the Ham Radio ALE Global High Frequency Network (HFN) went into service. The Q code is a standardized collection of three-letter message encodings, all starting with the letter “Q”, initially developed for commercial radiotelegraph communication, and later adopted by other radio services, especially amateur radio. Although Q codes were created when radio used Morse code exclusively, they continued to be employed after the introduction of voice transmissions. To avoid confusion, transmitter call signs have often been limited to restrict ones starting with “Q” or having an embedded three-letter Q sequence.
